1. What are the advantages to using LED lights?
Ans: LEDs bring several advantages to the lighting industry, including high efficiency and durability, and, with superior life over other lamp sources; their required maintenance is greatly reduced. This translates into energy savings, maintenance savings and an overall reduction in cost of ownership over the product’s lifetime.
Long-lasting – LED bulbs last up to 10 times as long as compact fluorescents, and far longer than typical incandescents
Durable – LEDs do not have a filament, they are not damaged under circumstances when a regular incandescent bulb would be broken. LEDs will not shatter.
Mercury Free – no mercury or other hazardous materials are used in the manufacturing of LEDs
Disposal - VIRIBRIGHT bulbs can be disposed of safely
More Efficient – LED light bulbs use only 2-11 watts of electricity (1/3rd to 1/30th of Incandescent or CFL) and these bulbs last for years so energy is also saved in maintenance and replacement costs.
2. Are all UNISHINE products dimmable?
Ans: Good question - no, not all of our products support dimming. It's important not to install non-dimmable LED lighting in dimmable fixtures, as it will shorten the life of the product.
3. How do UNISHINE LED lamps differ from other manufacturer's LED products?
Ans: The biggest advantages UNISHINE offers is our extensive experience (eight years and counting), and a three-year , a guarantee few if any other manufacturers are willing to offer.
4. Before I replace a traditional lamp or light fixture with UNISHINE's LED products, is there anything I need to know about performing the installation?
Ans: Since all UNISHINE bulbs are designed based on IEC standards, the size and lamp base are the same as traditional bulbs currently on the market. Also, for our LED light fixtures, installation is no different than installing a traditional fixture.
5. I'm going to replace a halogen MR16 with an UNISHINE MR16. Will I need to replace the driver as well?
Ans: The UNISHINE MR16 is compatible with all traditional MR16 12V magnetic transformers, but you may experience flickering issues if you're installing the UNISHINE MR16 in an MR16 12V electronic transformer. This occurs because the UNISHINE MR16 consumes an extremely low level of power, but most traditional halogen electronic transformers are designed with a minimum loading capability of 20W. For best results, we highly recommend using an UNISHINE driver to avoid compatibility issues.
6. What is the color correlated temperature (CCT) tolerance for UNISHINE products?
Ans: As the CCT tolerance varies from product to product, you can find this information on the individual specifications pages of each product.
7. Are UNISHINE LED light bulbs UL approved?
Ans: UNISHINE's LED PAR30 and PAR38 ligts, 10W LED corn bulb and T8 LED tubes are UL approved. To view the UL Certification Reports, please click here. In addition, we can offer you ODM service, so we can apply for the UL certification for you if you required us to do so.
8. How are LED lighting products different from other lighting, like fluorescent or incandescent?
Ans: LED’s are small, solid light bulbs which are extremely energy-efficient. The UNISHINE LED light bulb is made up of clusters of LEDs (light emitting diodes) that illuminates beyond traditional incandescent bulbs or CFL bulbs while using much less energy. Until recently, LEDs were limited to single bulb use in applications such as instrument panels, electronics, pen lights and, more recently, strings of indoor and outdoor Christmas lights. Now available with standard bases which fit common household light fixtures, LEDs are the next generation in home lighting as well as a cost-effective means of lighting your environment.
9. What is the voltage requirement for UNISINE?
Ans: There are different requirements for different products, 100~240V/AC, 85~265V/AC, 108~132V/AC,depends on the products.
10. What are the Color Temp Kelvins for UNISHINE?
Ans: The unit Kelvin is an indication of the light color.
A typical light bulb is about 2,500K.
A CFL warm white is about 2,700 - 3,000K and CFL cool white is 5,000 – 6,500K.
The UNISHINE LED warm white is 2700~3300K, the natural white is 4,000~4500K and the cool white is 6000~6500K.
11. What is Color Rendering Index (CRI)？
Ans: The color rendering index (CRI) is a quantitative measure of the ability of a light source to reproduce the colors of various objects faithfully in comparison with an ideal or natural light source. There are two different kinds of CRI of the UNISHINE LED, over 70Ra and over 80Ra for your option. In comparison, the CRI of a normal light bulb is 1.
12. What type of plastic is the cover made out of?
Ans: The transparent cover is made of Polycarbonate. Polycarbonates are a particular group of thermoplastic polymers that are easily worked, molded and thermoformed that are temperature resistance and impact resistance.
13. Why does the UNISHINE bulb top stay cool to the touch?
Ans: LED lighting products use light emitting diodes to produce light very efficiently. The movement of electrons through the semiconductor material illuminates the tiny light sources we call LEDs. A small amount of heat is released backwards, into a heat-sink, in a well-designed product; LEDs are basically cool to the touch.
14. Can the UNISHINE bulb be disposed of safely?
Ans: As a matter fact, yes they can, unlike CFLs that contain mercury and have strict disposal laws, UNISHINE LED bulbs can be safely disposed of with no worries of contaminating the environment.
15. Why is the lifespan of an LED measured as lumen depreciation?
Ans: The lifespan of an LED is vastly longer than that of incandescent, fluorescent or HID lamp sources, generally lasting 50,000 hours or longer. Although the LED never really burns out, product lifespan is measured by lumen depreciation. The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) currently recommends calculating the life of an LED at the point at which the LED reaches 30 percent lumen depreciation.
Remember, a 50,000-hour rating is not equivalent to lamp life rating. LED life is rated where it has reached 30 percent lumen depreciation. At 50,000 hours an LED would still be operating, but at a decreased lumen output.
